Attack On Titan : The Life Of Ymir Fritz (The First Founding Titan) Explained

1. Backstory and How She Got The Founding Titan

Ymir Fritz, the founding titan and the first titan to be exact. She was a slave of the Eldian King. She was a little girl at her village when the Eldian King captured her village. She worked for the Eldian King as a child. One day, she wanted to set 1 pig free and the King found out the pig was missing. The king asked all the slaves to reveal who freed the pig or else all of them will lose 1 eye. Every slave pointed at Ymir and the king just let her go. But, some of the guards chase after her. Wounded and desperate, Ymir found an unusually large tree with a chasm at its base. Seeking shelter, she stepped inside and, not knowing of the sinkhole beneath, fell down into a pool of liquid. There, a mysterious spine-like creature fused with her and turned her into the first Titan.

2.  Her life as a Titan Shifter

She came back to the village once again as a slave of the Eldian king, who abused her power to bring prosperity to Eldia while devastating Marley and the rest of the world. And then she and the Eldian King got married. Thirteen years after awakening her power, she died protecting the king from a spear straight to the heart; her corpse was then forcibly cannibalized by their daughters, Maria, Rose, and Sheena.

3. After Death

After her death, Ymir was summoned in an unknown world called the paths.

Here she built all the nine titans for their shifters. She has been alone in the paths until Zeke and Eren visit the paths.

Here Eren convinces her to give him the power of the founding titan, telling her to choose for herself.

4. The End

Ymir smiles as she finally sees emotions for the first time for a long time.
